Luthier On Call “Our Story”

Felix

“Hello and welcome to my website!

My name is Felix M. Perez-Cuza Aka “Felix Violins” and I am a professional luthier with a Bachelor’s Degree in Violin from the University of The Arts of Cuba and a Luthieria Degree from The Honorable Professorship Emilio Roig of Leuchsenring of San Geronimo Of Havana. I am passionate about helping people, especially parents of kids who want to learn a string instrument and professional musicians who have to make a living from music.

I believe in honesty, integrity, and compromise. I always deliver my best and the most value for customers’ money. My unique selling point is “Transparency”. My customers will always know where their instruments are from and will always have my back in trying to help them succeed in their musical path.

I was part of a European project attached to the Historian Office of Havana, Cuba, for preparing luthiers which has been working for several years. Thanks to this project, I have already built three violins with excellent sound results guaranteed by the opinion of teachers such as Mintcho Mintchev, Mauricio Fuks, Jorge Saade, Alfredo Muñoz, among other players, and Luthieres as Richard Kirstiuk of Canada, Pierre Galburch Brussels among others. I have also participated in the construction of another violin under the supervision of a famous Luthier called Stefano Gibertoni.

I have made three instruments and participated in constructing three more. I have successfully restored many instruments, including some of Luthieres recognized as Gagliano, Remy, Vladimir Pilar, J. Guadagnini, Joseph Vavra, Gan Bernaldel, and Scollari among others. I was the Principal second Violin of one of the more well-known Cuban Chambers Music Orchestras for many years. I was named Principal Assistant of the Dean of one university in Mexico and Principal Assistant of the Head of Department at the String Department of the University of the Arts in Cuba.

In addition to being a Professional Luthier, Violinist, and private violin, viola, and cello teacher, I also have a YouTube channel where I post instructional videos about violin techniques and Luthieria.

Thank you for visiting my website! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you would like to learn more about my services.”
